Ara Galang proves championship pedigree in Farm Fresh’s breakthrough

Ara Galang delivered at the perfect time, powering Farm Fresh to its first-ever semifinals appearance with a dominant straight-set win over Nxled in the final round of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference play-in.

Galang, who joined the Foxies following the disbandment of Chery Tiggo, had struggled to find her rhythm and was even relegated to the bench early in the preliminaries. However, she earned the start and made the most of the opportunity, helping steer a 25-17, 25-20, 25-19 victory over the Chameleons last Tuesday at the Filoil Centre.

She turned in her best performance for Farm Fresh, finishing with nine points and six excellent receptions.

“Kailangan always ready lang din talaga, at kailangan i-make most out of it kapag ginamit ka, kapag pinagkatiwalaan ka,” said the 31-year-old winger after the win.

After finally breaking through, Galang remained focused on contributing in any way she could — maximizing every opportunity and doing her part to help the team secure wins whenever called upon.

With that, she vowed to continue giving her best each time she steps on the floor, determined to make the most of every opportunity entrusted to her by Japanese head coach Koji Tsuzurabara, who has consistently leaned on the team’s depth throughout the conference.

“Of course, gustong-gusto ko lang namang makatulong sa team, maka-contribute para manalo, at ’yun nga, makaabot ng semis. So yun, best effort lang kung ano ang kaya ko talaga, and ibibigay ko yung best ko,” said Galang.

As Farm Fresh heads into its maiden semifinals appearance, the young squad will lean on veterans like Galang, whose experience and steady presence are expected to guide them as they navigate the next stage.

“Actually, more on work ako kaysa talk. Kunting ano lang, pero dahil kilala din naman nila ako as a player, ginagawa ko lang kung ano yung makakaya ko para ma-inspire sila at maengganyo sila,” said the former La Salle star.

“Ngayon, same pa rin — yung disiplina namin at kung paano kami nagtrabaho as one. Yun at yun lang din ang magdadala sa amin sa taas. Hopefully, ma-maintain namin o maangat pa namin.”
