Spikers Turf: PGJC-Navy schools Richmarc 3B for 3rd straight win

PGJC-Navy secured its third consecutive win in the 2024 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference, dominating Richmarc Sports 3B with a score of 25-19, 25-12, 25-22, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, on Friday.

Team captain Greg Dolor led the Sealions’ triumph with 15 points, comprising 12 attacks, two blocks, and a service ace, along with five excellent receptions.

“Kampante ako na kaya nilang habulin hanggang dulo, sabi ko nga sa kanila, matured enough na kayo para habulin ‘yung ganong situation,” said Navy head coach George Pascua, emphasizing the team’s resilience in closing out the game in one hour and 26 minutes.

Despite dominating the second frame, the Sealions faced challenges in the third set, trailing 15-18.

Nevertheless, Dolor and Joeven Dela Vega stepped up for Navy, securing the victory and improving their record to 3-1 after a loss in their opening game against the league-leading Cignal.

Dela Vega and Peter Quiel contributed nine and eight points, respectively, for the Sealions.

Navy aims to extend its winning streak as they go against Savouge Aesthetics on Wednesday at the Paco Arena in Manila.

Meanwhile, Kernel Ipulan scored 10 points as the Elite Spikers remained winless after four matches.

Richmarc continues its pursuit of a breakthrough victory next Friday against VNS-Nasty at the same Pasig venue.
