PVL: Kianna Dy shines as F2 Logistics continues PLDT’s woes

The Kalei Mau-less F2 Logistics scored its second consecutive win after extending PLDT’s losing streak to three games, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20, in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena, Tuesday.

Mau missed the game due to an undisclosed injury but the Cargo Movers finally welcomed Tin Tiamzon back to the lineup after missing the team’s first three games.

With their top local player out, Lindsay Stalzer stepped up with 19 points on 15 attacks, two blocks, and two aces on top of 10 excellent digs while Kianna Dy added in 12 points in the victory which lasted for just an hour and 37 minutes.

“Of course after the two losses medyo mabigat talaga and then we cannot stop working naman. Kailangan tuloy-tuloy whatever happens and then we push for that win every game we should win, ‘yan naman ang goal ng team,” said F2 Logistics head coach Benson Bocboc.

“So, nakadalawa na and hopefully, dire-diretso tayo hanggang matapos,” he added.

Aby Marano scored eight markers while Shola Alvarez chipped in six points off the bench for the 2-2 F2 Logistics, who moved up to the fourth spot after losing their first two assignments of the conference.

Kim Fajardo dished out 18 excellent sets to go along with two points while Dawn Macandili collected 13 excellent digs.

After taking the first two sets, the F2 Logistics led by as much as six points in the third frame, 19-13, after an attack error from Elena Savkina-Samoilenko and a quick attack from Ivy Lacsina.

The High Speed Hitters capitalized on the Cargo Movers’ errors and trimmed the lead to just three, 19-22, following a 6-3 rally capped off by successive hits from Erika Santos and Eli Soyud.

Rhea Dimaculangan committed a service error in the next play while Soyud’s attack sailed out which put the Cargo Movers at match point, 24-19. Samoilenko saved a point before Stalzer hammered one from the back to end the game.

PLDT suffered its third consecutive loss after its opening day win against United Auctioneers Inc-Army to fall at 1-3.

Samoilenko was the lone double-digit scorer for the High Speed Hitters with 17 points while Soyud and Ceballos added seven apiece.

Mika Reyes and Dell Palomata were held to just three points each in the loss.

F2 Logistics will face off against Petro Gazz on Saturday, 5:30 PM while PLDT takes on the same team on November 5, 2:30 PM. Both games will be played at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex.
