With Ever Bilena, the company behind Blackwater, helping with the naturalization process for Greg Smith and Kelly Hardeman, TNT Katropa import Donte Greene remains hopeful that his will be processed as well.
“I just hope I get it,” the 29-year-old, who trained with Gilas Pilipinas last month, shared after TNT’s 107-101 win over San Miguel.
“You all vote for me. If you all have a vote, vote for me!” he quipped.
Turning serious, Greene believes that if he continues to play well, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas will help push for his naturalization.
“It’s up in the air still. I think if I come out here and just continue to play well, play hard, and show the team I’m willing to do whatever, hopefully we help the national team out,” said Greene, who is averaging 30.40 points, 15.20 rebounds, and 1.60 blocks this conference.
“Like I said, it will be a blessing so I hope I get it. If not, I’ll just continue to play hard.”
