Chooks to Go pledges commitment to Gilas Pilipinas

Chooks to Go you rock!

Gilas Pilipinas, the Men’s National Basketball team, has found a new partner that will help boost the team in its next journey. Bounty Fresh, the country’s leading chicken producer, has pledged their support to the cause in an event dubbed as #ManokNgBayan, Monday evening at the Rizal Ballroom, Makati Shangrila in Makati City.

“Gilas Pilipinas gave the Filipino inspiration to believe. This is the kind of hope that MVP and Smart evoke to our countrymen,” President and General Manager of Bounty Fresh Ronald Mascarinas said, fortifying the partnership between the two corporate giants.

“This partnership makes our company’s success more meaningful.”

It was a night of celebration. Not only did the event celebrate the partnership between SMART Communications and Chooks-to-Go but also the undying support of the godfather of Philippine basketball, Manny V. Pangilinan.

Prior to 2007, the formation of a true National Team was just a dream. But with MVP’s vision, the dream became a reality. And MVP vows to continue to support Philippine sports and give hope to the Filipino people.

“I’ve always been ask as to number of skeptics why despite our size, we continue to support basketball? My answer has always been, Filipinos love basketball. Sabi nga ni Ronald kanina, they support basketball in the provinces,” the chairman of Metro Pacific Investments said.

“Panu namin tatalikuran ang sport na iniibig ng mga Filipino? No matter what we will be there.”

Same goes for returning Gilas head coach Chot Reyes, who admitted that his duty to the nation keeps calling him back to coaching.

“For me, coaching the national team is my service to my country. It’s about the men behind me. They play 11 months in the year and they give up their vacation in the off-season for the chance to wear Pilipinas on their chest,” the president of TV5 shared.

“We fight until we can’t fight no more for our country with all our hearts.”

And with a new partner in Bounty Fresh, Reyes believes that the sacrifices they have to endure will be much less harder.

“Napakahirap po ng aming tatahakin pero kung kasama namin kayo, it is going to be much easier with you around,” Reyes said.

“On behalf of Bounty Fresh’s management team, we would like to say in all sincerity, maraming salamat MVP,” Mascarinas responded.

Truly, the dream of private corporations supporting the Philippine sports has come true.

#ManokNgBayan was hosted by SMART Communications, Bounty Fresh, and Melmac Sports.
