Alain Jethro Madrigal poured 23 points while TJ Flores flirted with a triple-double as the Philippines U18 national team continued to roll in the SEABA U18 Championship after picking a 133-52 win over Laos Sunday in Medan, Indonesia.
Flores finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists while Joshua Sinclair added 18 points as the Philippines improved to 2-0 in the tournament.
The nationals poured 32 points in the opening quarter before holding Laos to only five points in the second period to hold an insurmountable 59-15 lead entering the halftime break.
The team then scored at least 30 points in each of the last two quarters to break away. The Philippines shot over 57 percent from the field and scored 40 points from 30 Laos turnovers.
The team also had a whopping 74-24 disparity in points in the paint, and made 12 more triples than Laos. Three others scored in double-digits for the Philippines, with only Gian Mamuyac not being able to get on the board.
The Philippines will battle Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia to close out its elimination round campaign.
