One would think that when a certain event is always at the campus of the same school every year, that school would find more success in that sport. UE has been hosting the UAAP Beach Volleyball tournament since its inception and hasn’t won a title ever. This season might be no different for UE as it continues to struggle to find decent players for its volleyball program.
UE’s Francislyn Cais and Krysel Cuevas looked out of place against their competition as they dropped their two debut games against UP and UST both in convincing fashion.
As harsh as it may sound, all other teams might as well mark an extra win on their record because their game against UE is already over before it even started.
MEN’S
Beach volleyball easily exposes the deficiencies of a tandem. UE’s Carlo Almario distinct attacking weakness is easily exploited as servers can easily target him and make him score for his team, a strategy employed by the Tamaraws who swept them handily, 21-10, 21-14.
Almario has to find a way to score or make his receptions good enough for his burly partner, Edward Composano, to spike. If this tandem can’t generate offense between the both of them, UE will not win a game.
