Lady Spikers zap Lady Warriors, roll to Final Four

Defending champions De La Salle University Lady Spikers showed their most dominant form of the season, flooring crowd darlings University of the East Lady Warriors, 25-8, 25-14, 25-12, at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

La Salle clobbered their bottom-dwelling foes right from the first whistle, easily building insurmountable double-digit leads in each of the three sets.

“Nakita nila ‘yung problema noong first round kaya ngayon na-address nila and pinakita nila ‘yung laro nila,” said La Salle head coach Ramil De Jesus about the stark contrast between their two UE matches.

While their first round match lasted almost two hours, this time, La Salle finished UE off in an hour and 25 minutes, the fastest match of the season.

“Pinakita nila ‘yung character nila and ‘yung determination nila. Maganda ‘yan na sana magtuloy-tuloy lang,” he furthered.

Majoy Baron topped the Lady Spikers with 13 points, while Kianna Dy added 11. La Salle limited UE to just 12 attacks the entire match.

Shaya Adorador encapsulated UE’s struggle, leading her team with just five points.

The Lady Spikers improved their record to a league-best 9-2, officially clinching their 10th consecutive postseason berth. They take on the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses (3-7) after the Holy Week break on April 8 at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

After back-to-back wins, UE followed up with two straight losses, sending them to the bottom of the standings at 2-9. They play the National University Lady Bulldogs (6-4) also on April 8.
