University of the Philippines is already preparing for life after Noy Remogat.
Fil-Am guard Joaquin Tovera has committed to the Fighting Maroons, Fil-Am Nation confirmed to Tiebreaker Times.
The 5-foot-10 guard made his mark during the 2026 SMART-NBTC National Finals, suiting up for Fil-Am Nation LA.
In three Division I games, Tovera averaged 27.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists, helping Fil-Am Nation LA reach the Supreme 16 round.
He has also shown his scoring prowess during his stint with Chino Hills, highlighted by a 47-point outing last January 14 against Etiwanda in the Baseline League.
Tovera is also eyeing a spot in the Gilas Pilipinas Boys pool for the 2026 FIBA Under-18 Asian Championship.
He is set to redshirt UAAP Season 89 and is expected to make his debut for UP in Season 90.
By that time, Remogat and Rainer Maga will have already exhausted their playing eligibility with the Fighting Maroons.
