After sitting out the team’s first two games, ECHO roamer Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera finally made his much-anticipated debut in the M4 World Championship on Wednesday night.
Yawi helped the team take down RSG SG to clinch the top seed and the first upper bracket spot in Group C. He recorded a game-high 10 assists laced with a kill and two deaths in the 16-8 domination which lasted for 15 minutes and four seconds.
The 21-year-old roamer was involved in a cheating scandal just a day before ECHO kick-started its group stage campaign. He was benched in the team’s first two matches before eventually making his debut against the Singaporean squad.
Yawi said that he understands the team’s decision to sit him out against RRQ Hoshi and Occupy Thrones. He also thanked his teammates for still trusting him despite everything that transpired over the past week and lauded veteran roamer Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz for stepping up in his absence.
The former Nexplay EVOS star said that he was just glad to finally fulfill his dream of playing on the world stage. Moreover, he vowed to do everything to help ECHO clinch the M4 title.
