Arellano University punched its ticket to the quarterfinals after eliminating Adamson University, 25-20, 25-21, 25-20, in the 2022 V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge, Sunday at the Paco Arena.

Ken Villados showed flashes of his brilliance on both ends, dishing out 12 excellent sets while also scoring five points which includes three huge blocks for the Chiefs.

Carl Berdal top scored with 18 points on 16 attacks and two blocks while Arman Clarence Guinto and Kim Tan had 14 and 10 points, respectively, as Arellano moved to 2-3 in Pool B.

“Thankful kami at magkakaroon pa kami ng game kasi ang hinahabol talaga namin is more games, mas okay. So we have another game, kung ano mang kalabasan bonus na lang pero magpeprepare naman kami,” said Chiefs head coach Sherwin Meneses.

“Sumali kami para mag-perform nang maganda, makakuha ng chemistry kasi medyo 50-50 yung team, 50 seniors, 50 na bata. Yung resulta naman bonus na lang samin pero syempre yung mga bata gusto talaga manalo,” he added.

Arellano’s victory also means that De La Salle University (2-3) will complete the quarterfinals cast of Pool B. College of St. Benilde, who will play University of Sto. Tomas later in the day, is already eliminated.

Joshua Magalaman and Francis Casas each had eight points for the Soaring Falcons while JM Tropia and Ned Pacquing had five apiece.
