V.League: Bagunas drops 17 but Oita Miyoshi suffers 10th straight loss

Bryan Bagunas returned to the lineup of Oita Miyoshi and played spectacular right away, but all his efforts went down the drain anew.

This as Weisse Adler fell to their 10th straight loss, succumbing to Panasonic, 16-25, 22-25, 16-25, in the 2021-22 V.League Division 1 men’s tournament at the Cycle Shop Kodama Osu Arena, Sunday.

The 6-foot-5 Filipino import missed yesterday’s match. This time, he went for an efficient 17 points, going 16-of-30 in his attacks, a good 53.3 percent.

Tatsunori Otsuka was the leader of the Panthers pack with 16 points built on 13 spikes, two service aces, and a block.

Michał Kubiak supplied eight attacks, three blocks, and two aces for 13 points. Meanwhile, Akihiro Yamauchi and Kunihiro Shimizu got 10 points apiece.

Panasonic held on to the third seed at 22-10 – just half a game ahead of Sakai at 21-10.

Shota Fujiwara backstopped Bagunas with nine points. Kota Yamada added seven points.

Oita Miyoshi missed the services of its other import Emerson Rodriguez this time. They fell to 5-27.

Weisse Adler look to finally break their 10-game skid when they battle co-cellar dweller VC Nagano on Saturday, 12:00 PM, at the Shiojiri City Gymnasium.
