Golden Tigresses breeze past Lady Falcons

In one of the shortest matches of Season 79 so far, the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses demolished the lowly Adamson University Lady Falcons, 25-13, 25-12, 25-9, for their second win at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Lasting just under an hour and 20 minutes, UST lorded it over their San Marcelino-based counterparts on all fronts, serving 14 aces to Adamson’s zero and converting 31 spikes to Adamson’s 16. The Tigresses also limited their errors to a season-low 15.

Nandiyan din kami last year kaya alam ko ‘yung pinagdaanan nila,” remarked UST head coach Kungfu Reyes.

11 players scored for UST, led by skipper Cherry Rondina who tallied 15 points. Ej Laure and Alina Bicar each had six points.

UST improve their record to 2-3, good for sixth in the standing. They next face the National University Lady Bulldogs (3-1) on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Team captain Jema Galanza was the only Lady Falcon who managed a significant scoring output, with seven points.

Adamson fall to eighth place with a 0-6 record. They get their best chance at a win next Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena when they take on the University of the East Lady Warriors (0-5).
