Toyama supports Dwight Ramos return to Gilas

Dwight Ramos has the full blessing of Toyama to join Gilas Pilipinas in the upcoming first window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

In fact, the Grouses even documented Ramos’ departure from Japan.

With Ramos leaving the team, he will miss Toyama’s game against Ibaraki at Adastria Mito Arena.

The 6-foot-4 winger is averaging 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per contest so far for the Grouses.

Crucial will be this contest for Toyama as they are currently 13-20 in the standings and the weekend slate is the only games in its slate for the month.

For his part, Ramos vows to repay the trust given to him by his team by performing well for Gilas.

“I’m excited to come back and play for the Philippines, represent my country,” he said. “Also, I’m going to represent Toyama as I go on and play my best out there.

“I hope I can make the team proud as I play over there in the Philippines and just represent the B.League, Toyama, and play for my country. I’m excited for everybody and I hope everything goes well.”

From the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Ramos will immediately head to Lipa, Batangas to join Chot Reyes and Gilas at Malarayat Golf and Country Club.
