Sisi Rondina crowned UAAP Women’s Volleyball MVP to wild ovation

In front of a thankful UST community and, most importantly, her family, Sisi Rondina was crowned the UAAP Season 81 Women’s Volleyball Most Valuable Player.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa Panginoon na isa ako sa binigyan ng ganitong talento. Sa eighth man po namin, sa UST community, maraming salamat,” Rondina said.

“Hindi po para sa’kin, para sa ating lahat ‘to.”

Rondina, last season’s best scorer, also brought home the Second Best Outside Spiker trophy.

The 5-foot-5 spiker averaged 17.7 points per contest on 33.38-percent, to go along with 3.98 digs per set.

This caps her illustrious career with five MVP trophies, with four in the beach volleyball scene.

UST’s blue-chip recruit Eya Laure was deemed the Rookie of the Year and First Best Outside Hitter.

Laure also came in as a close second to Rondina for MVP.

The UST lifer had norms of 16.4 points per game on a 35.90-percent clip.

Ateneo, UST’s Finals foe, had Kat Tolentino and Maddie Madayag named Best Opposite Hitter and Second Best Middle Blocker, respectively.

National University’s graduating skipper Rose Doria brought home First Best Middle Blocker, while Lady Bulldogs rookie Princess Robles was deemed the Best Server.

University of the East’s Kath Arado and Lai Bendong bagged the Best Libero and Best Setter awards, respectively.
