For Shaina Nitura, Adamson University’s latest V-League championship wasn’t just another trophy—it was the continuation of a legacy built by generations of Lady Falcons who wore their colors with pride and faith.
Nitura and her teammates represent the newest chapter in the school’s proud volleyball tradition, after capturing the 2025 V-League Collegiate Challenge crown and becoming only the fourth Adamson squad to win a title in a Sports Vision-organized preseason tournament.
Their triumph this year bridges three generations of Lady Falcons volleyball—following the eras of Angela Benting, Pau Soriano and Lizlee Gata-Pantone in 2008 and 2010, and Trisha Genesis and Louie Romero in 2019.
“Ayun, talaga eh, God’s will, timing niya talaga kung kailan mangyayari. I’m very grateful kasi yung time na ‘to kasama ko sila Coach Yude, yung mga teammates ko nung high school kasi iba yung dating talaga,” said Nitura, moments after helping deliver Adamson’s first V-League title in 15 years.
What makes this championship even more special for Nitura is the bond she shares with her longtime teammates and coaches.
For her, Adamson volleyball has always been more than a team; it’s a family built on shared faith and the desire to make each other better.
“Kasi talagang hindi lang siya about the team or naglalaro lang kayo. Talagang family na siya and mas mahirap yun tibagin kapag mas malalim yung understanding niyo, yung relationship niyo, yung pagmamahal niyo sa isa’t isa,” shared Nitura, who chose to share her Finals MVP plum with setter Fhei Sagaysay and Frances Mordi during the awarding ceremony.
Nitura has been at the forefront of Adamson’s resurgence—leading a new generation of Lady Falcons determined to bring the program back to prominence and uphold the winning culture built by those who came before them.
The UAAP Rookie of the Year has had a whirlwind summer, suiting up for Alas Pilipinas and gaining invaluable experience alongside the country’s top volleyball talents before capping it off by steering Adamson to the V-League crown—while claiming both the Tournament and Finals MVP honors along the way.
Now, as the dust settles on a triumphant offseason, Nitura knows the work is far from over.
The mission, she said, is to bring everything she’s learned from a summer filled with growth—both with Alas Pilipinas and Adamson—and share it with her teammates as they continue their climb in the UAAP, determined to keep the Lady Falcons soaring higher and restore the glory of Adamson volleyball.
“Siguro kasi learning siya. So hanggat hindi natatapos yung training at yung mga kailangan namin yung work on, madadala ko siya at itutulong ko yun sa team. And in a way, mag-grow din yung team. Kasi lalo na yung mga rookies namin,” said Nitura.
“Kasi syempre, yun nga, based nga sa sa experiences na yun, I can share it to them. And in a way, makakatulong sa kanila.”
