San Beda spoils LPU’s chances; JRU keeps semis hopes alive

The San Beda Lady Red Spikers eked out a five-set victory to stop the Lyceum University Lady Pirates, while the Jose Rizal University Lady Bombers demolished the Mapua Institute of Technology Lady Cardinals in three sets to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot, Monday at the FilOil Flying V Center, San Juan City.

Lyceum took advantage of the opposition’s reception problems to take the opening frame. In the following two sets, however, San Beda were able to adjust and wrestle control of the match.
