PVL: Lacsina shows way as F2 grounds Nxled for first win

ANTIPOLO – F2 Logistics entered the win column with a clean sweep against Nxled, 25-20, 25-14, 25-16, in the Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center here on Tuesday.

After a five-set loss to Akari just a week ago, the Cargo Movers bounced back in style.

They sent the Chameleons crashing down following a successful debut against Gerflor.

“Syempre happy kami kasi nanalo kami. But again, we still have a lot of things to work on and we cannot be complacent. Just have to work more. This is a good boost for our team, but then again, this is not the end. We have a lot more games pa,” said F2 Logistics head coach Regine Diego.

After a closely contested first set with the Chameleons, the Cargo Movers overcame their rust. They surged to an 11-point lead of 20-9 in the second frame, thanks to a Jho Maraguinot attack error.

Nxled, led by May Luna, mounted a quick 3-0 comeback, but Ivy Lacsina’s four-point surge, including two points from her, gave her team a commanding 24-12 lead.

The Cargo Movers made two attack errors before Lacsina sealed the deal with a cross-court hit.

From that point on, F2 Logistics controlled the match, securing a 24-15 advantage before Judith Abil’s service error officially ended the game.

Lacsina continued to fill the void left by the injured Kianna Dy. She tallied a game-high 19 points with 15 attacks and four blocks, along with eight excellent digs.

And her performance helped the Cargo Movers improve to a 1-1 record.

“Syempre mas importante yung team kesa sa individual and that’s what I like about Ivy. Ivy accepted the challenge and also siya yung nagbigay ng mas malaking value ngayon sa sarili niya. Ngayon kahit saan mo ilagay si Ivy, kaya niya and I don’t think there’s a lot of players who can do that,” said Diego.

Jolina Dela Cruz, who came off the bench in their debut loss, started the game and finished with 11 points and 11 excellent receptions.

Majoy Baron also made a significant contribution with four blocks, ending with 10 points for F2 Logistics.

Meanwhile, Dawn Macandili made her debut after missing the team’s first game due to a shoulder injury and recorded 13 excellent digs in her return.

F2 Logistics dominated on the offensive end, with 42 attacks, 12 blocks, and seven service aces. This eclipsed Nxled’s 27 attacks, one block, and two aces in a game that lasted for an hour and 22 minutes.

The Cargo Movers aim for their second consecutive win when they face Galeries Tower in Candon, Ilocos Sur on Saturday at 4:00 PM.

On the other hand, the Chameleons, who dropped to 1-1, were led by Lycha Ebon, who scored 11 points through 11 attacks.

Jho Maraguinot added seven markers, eight excellent receptions, and four excellent digs. Meanwhile, Krich Macaslang and Camille Victoria each contributed five points.

Nxled will try to bounce back against Petro Gazz later that day at 6:00 PM.

The Cargo Movers upgraded its standing to 1-1 while the Chameleons slid to 1-1 as well.
