PVL, BVR, PSL, Spikers Turf stars join growing chorus in singing ‘Heal the World’


Volleyball athletes continue to serve as an inspiration to the community amid the dreaded coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

In a video circulating online, volleyball personalities from the Philippines and across the globe delivered their own rendition of the Michael Jackson classic Heal The World.

Bryan Bagunas, Jaja Santiago, Johnvic De Guzman, Cherry Rondina, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Dawn Macandili, Jessie Lopez, Ricky Marcos, Maddie Magayag, Rachel Daquis, Mylene Paat, and Grethcel Soltones led the led the local cast, rallying humanity to have a concentrated effort of making the world a better place despite the dire situation.

The other Filipinos who sang along were Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Jheck Dionela, Angel Canino, Francis Saura, Judith Abil, Angel Canino, Francis Saura, Judith Abil, Ivy Perez, Kalei Mau, Iris Tolenada, Jen Reyes, and Nicole Tiamzon.

Couple Jema Galanza and Deanna Wong, and sisters Eya and Ej Laure also made their voices heard, as well as NU Lady Bullpups head coach Regine Diego and BVR founder Charo Soriano.

The foreign talents that also joined in the ever-growing chorus of athletes in calling for solidarity in these trying times are Courtney Felinski, Tiana Dockery, Gina Mambru, Darlene Ramdin, Casey Schoenlein, and Niki del Rio.

This also serves as a gesture of gratitude for the healthcare and service workers, who are on the frontlines battling the global health crisis.

Angeli Araneta, alongside Amorntep Konhan, Andre Queiroz, Aimal Khan, and Katarina Pilecpic, then grabbed the chance to remind everyone to follow important precautions.

“To all volleyball fans and supporters out there, while you all miss volleyball, let’s stay home for now and stay clean to protect ourselves and people around us. Make sure to eat healthy, wash your hands, and take your vitamins regularly,” Araneta said.

“Let’s do our part and soon we will be back to watching and playing our favorite sport.”
