Poy Erram acknowledges error, commits to keeping emotions in check

Poy Erram admitted that he should’ve done better in keeping his emotions in check after an outburst during TNT’s eventual defeat to Barangay Ginebra in Game 2 of the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup Finals last Sunday.

The veteran big man regrets making a scene when he kicked a cooler near the TNT bench before entering the dugout to blow off some steam, where he was caught on video kicking the team’s bags as he was frustrated with a no-call.

Although he has moved on from the incident, the 35-year-old said that it would’ve been best had he exercised restraint, especially while in public.

Then again, it’s water under the bridge now, and Erram was able to refocus for Game 3 Wednesday night.

And that showed in the way he performed.

The 6-foot-8 center produced decently in the 17 minutes and 37 seconds he played off the bench, finishing with five points, including a three-pointer. He also had three rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.

The Tropang Giga won, 87-85, for a solid bounce-back — and, more importantly, construct a 2-1 lead to regain control of the best-of-7 series

Erram thanked his teammates and coaches for helping him recalibrate, vowing to stay as collected as he can be for he knows his importance to the squad.
