Phoenix replaces Jay McKinnis with Le’Bryan Nash

After just two games in the ongoing 2024 PBA Governors’ Cup, Phoenix has decided to switch imports.

The Fuel Masters are bringing in Le’Bryan Nash to replace Jay McKinnis, a change confirmed by team manager Paolo Bugia to Tiebreaker Times.

Phoenix currently holds a 0-2 record in Group B of the PBA Season 49’s first conference, having lost to San Miguel (107-111) and NLEX (95-100).

In those two games, McKinnis averaged 14.0 points and 14.5 rebounds per contest but struggled significantly from the field.

With Nash, Phoenix acquires an athletic wing player fresh off an impressive stint with the IBL team RANS Simba Bogor.

The 6-foot-6 Oklahoma State product averaged 21.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists during the recently concluded IBL tournament, earning a spot on the All-IBL Second Team.

He has also played professionally in Japan, Korea, Uruguay, Israel, and Mexico.

Nash is expected to arrive on Wednesday, just in time for the Fuel Masters’ game against Rain or Shine on Friday.
