After struggling in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, Phoenix have loaded up for the Governors’ Cup.
The Fuel Masters picked up guard RR Garcia and Davon Potts from the free agent pool.
The development was confirmed on the official Twitter account of Phoenix.
For the majority of the season, Garcia, a six-year vet who is just 29 years young, has been stuck in limbo.
TNT had put the 5-foot-11 floor general on the team’s inactive list for the last nine months. His contract with the Katropa expired last August 30.
Just like Garcia, Potts’ contract with the Alaska Aces ended on August 30.
Potts, the 18th overall pick in the 2017 PBA Draft, hardly saw minutes with the Aces during his stay there.
After his contract expired, he then played for the Phenom-Basilan Steel for two legs in the on-going Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 Magiting Cup and the Zamboanga Valientes in the Manila Challenger.
The two will join Phoenix’s backcourt that already boasts LA Revilla, Alex Mallari, RJ Jazul, and Matthew Wright.
Phoenix begins their campaign on Saturday, September 21 against the NLEX Road Warriors.
