RSG Philippines completed the Philippines’ domination as they secured the last ticket to the lower bracket finals via a 2-0 sweep of Home Bois in the lower bracket semi-finals of the MPL Invitational 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
With RSG’s victory, all Filipino teams will be occupying the top three finishers in the tournament with Echo and AP.Bren awaiting the grand finals and lower bracket finals, respectively.Â
They successfully avenged Blacklist International which succumbed to a close 2-1 decision earlier in the day against the Malaysian champions.Â
In Game 1, Eman “EMANN” Sangco (Beatrix) scored a double kill during a 14th-minute inhibitor turret defense to spark a decisive 3-0 punish that turned a close game into a rout.Â
With numbers on their side, RSG forced a base turret invasion in the ensuing sequence that gave them the opening win, 1-0.Â
The Raiders sustained their momentum and easily established a 6-0 spread on the kill tally by the 4th minute led by Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto (Baxia) who was already at a 4-0-2 KDA after the second turtle fight.Â
The MSC 2022 champions ended the match late in the 14th minute with a testament 25-0 kill score.Â
RSG will next face AP.Bren to dispute the last slot to the title match.
