ONE Championship announces 2016 Manila shows, 12 others


2016 will be the biggest year for ONE Championship!

After a ground-breaking ten show deal in China for one calendar year, Asia’s largest mixed martial arts property is planning 24 shows for 2016. Moreover, ONE Championship will debut in new territories like Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand.

Also announced are the schedules for the two annual Manila cards ONE Championship hosts every year. April 15 will be the first Philippine fight card for the company while, as per tradition, will close out their calendar year again in Manila on December 2. Both shows will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Victor Cui, CEO of ONE Championship, said he was very pleased with 2015 in terms of growth, as the organisation expands at an incredibly rapid pace.

“We look forward to bringing our signature brand of world-class MMA action into more cities in Asia come 2016,” he said. “With our success in Asia and the Middle East, we are thrilled to announce that we will be entering three new markets next year, namely Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong”

“These are amazing cities with a massive following of martial arts fans and next year, these fans will get to experience ONE Championship’s superlative MMA events live.”

20 February: Istora Senyan, Jakarta, Indonesia

18 March: Thuwanna Indoor Stadium, Yangon, Myanmar

15 April: Mall of Asia Arena, Manila, Philippines

6 May: Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore

27 May: Impact Arena, Bangkok, Thailand

17 June: Phu Tho Indoor Stadium, Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam

1 July: Asia World Expo, Hong Kong, China

5 August: NTU Sports Centre, Taipei, Taiwan

2 September: Stadium Negara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

22 October: Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Indonesia

11 November: Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore

2 December: Mall of Asia Arena, Manila, Philippines
