No Coach, No Problem: MPTheKing, See You Soon pull off MSC shocker

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

No coach? No problem for Michael “MPTheKing” Endino and See You Soon, who are determined to make waves in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Mid-Season Cup (MSC) 2024.

Despite facing adversity with their coaching staff suspended, the MPL Cambodia champions defied the odds.

MPTheKing, Kennt Anthony “Souuul” Basa, and See You Soon navigated their way through the knockout round with a stellar 2-1-0 record in the MSC 2024 on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“With the issue surrounding us, we want to prove to people that we can still do our best, even without our coaches,” said MPTheKing.

The MPL Cambodia champions committed in-game violations during their match against Selangor Red Giants on Day 1, resulting in a $2,000 fine and a four-game ban for their coaching staff.

Despite having no one to guide them on the ground, MPTheKing shared that head coach Chhimm “CatGod” Vitou and the rest of the coaching staff had already set their gameplan that they knew by heart.

“It’s not that big of a deal because the coaches already gave us pointers on what to do, what to expect, and how to handle the drafting phase. We just adjusted and reminded ourselves of what we needed to do. That’s how we overcame it,” said the 20-year-old jungler.

Despite the handicap, they remained focused on their remaining matches of the group stage on Day 4.

They stunned the entire MLBB community by sweeping the reigning MSC and four-time MPL Indonesia champions Fnatic ONIC and Team Falcons.

MPTheKing and See You Soon could hardly believe they had secured a ticket to advance to the next round. They had even resigned themselves to an early exit and were planning to return home on July 8th.

With their plans changed due to a fortunate turn of events, Sovann “Raa” Chanmakara stressed that they are looking forward to making the most out of it.

“No country should look down on us, especially Cambodia. We may be underdogs, but like our squad name, you will ‘See You Soon’ if you look down on us,” Raa said confidently.
