NCAA 91 Women’s Beach Volleyball Day 2: Benilde, San Beda remain undefeated

In the second day of the NCAA Season 91 Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament at the Boardwalk Beach in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers and the San Beda Lady Red Spikers still remained atop the standings with identical 5-0 cards.

Continuing their strong start, the duo of Jannine Navarro and Melanie Torres from Benilde opened their day with a commanding 21-3, 21-19 win against Regine Arocha and Angelica Sawali of the Arellano University Lady Chiefs and also had a 21-12, 21-12 win against the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Lady Knights. To end their day, the Lady Blazers successfully preserved their unblemished record with a hard-earned 20-22, 21-18, 15-13 victory against the Vhima Condada and Jamela Suyat tandem of the University of Perpetual Help Lady Altas.

Going over to San Beda’s lair, Jeziela and Nieza Viray picked up where they left off. They started the second day of their campaign with a rousing 21-12, 21-14 win against Alby Cubilla and Dianne Latayan of the Mapua Lady Cardinals. In the ensuing parts of the tournament, they later on chalked up a 21-11, 21-17 win against EAC’s Jaylene Lumbo and Yvonne Reyes and also ended their day with a thrilling 21-5, 21-23, 15-8 win against May Alvarez and Rosalie Pepito of the JRU Lady Heavy Bombers.

Rounding out the standings are the defending champion San Sebastian Lady Stags at third place with a 4-1 card, the EAC Lady Generals and Perpetual Help tied at fourth with identical 3-2 records. Arellano University is at sixth place with a 2-3 record while the likes of JRU, LPU and MIT all have 1-4 cards. Lastly, Letran still remained winless with a 0-5 record
