MPL PH: Onic stops skid with dramatic comeback over RSG

Onic Philippines displayed nerves of steel in mounting a deep 2-1 comeback win over RSG Slate Philippines in Week 5 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 11 on Sunday.

Onic snapped their own four-game slide while stopping RSG’s three-game win streak. They improved to 3-6 with 9pts to inch closer to the last playoff seat behind Smart Omega and Nexplay Evos who both have 10pts.

In Game 1, RSG banked on Eman “EMANN” Sangco (Karrie) pinpoint marksmanship, who highlighted his performance with a double kill in the 12th minute that helped them secure the luminous lord.

The MLBB Southeast Asian Cup 2022 MVP finished with a perfect 7-0-1 KDA in the opening win to take the Game 1 MVP.

It looked like a sweep was on the way when RSG scored a 4-0 wipe early in the 14th minute. However, EMANN (Claude) overextended, resulting in a pickoff. Frince Miguel “SUPER FRINCE” Ramirez (Faramis) then clutched a four-on-one base turret defense that enabled them so secure the evolved lord.

Onic wasted no time and scored the equalizer in the ensuing base turret invasion.

In Game 3, RSG led by as much as 8k on the net worth but Onic leaned on Stephen “Sensui” Castillo’s (Akai) heroics to clutch the 21st-minute lord and successfully gun a deep comeback to complete the reverse sweep.
