MPL PH: Clutch OhMyV33nus help Blacklist survives Onic for third straight

Blacklist International banked on Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna’s mechanical brilliance in the rubber match to survive Onic Philippines’ early surge and score a 2-1 reverse sweep in Week 3 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 11 on Friday.

During the pivotal play in Game 3, the Blacklist skipper executed a pinpoint flicker shadow stampede play, setting up four Onic members that sparked a 5-0 wipe to take the series.

Blacklist head coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani was all praises for Onic who also went the distance against M4 World Champions Echo in Week 2.

“Maganda pa rin yung naging performance nila (Onic). Kahit na sa standings mukhang natatalo sila, pero kung mapapansin niyo nakakascore talaga sila sa lahat ng teams,” he said. “May konting kulang lang pero malakas talaga yung team (Onic).”

In Game 1, Onic tormented Blacklist with a duplication of their Season 10 match-up when they used Kenneth “Nets” Barro’s Bruno to successfully take down the enemy base turret off a split push.

This time, his Karrie sneakily marched onto the enemy base during the 17th-minute lord fight catching Blacklist off guard to take the opening win, 1-0.

The 18-year-old goldlaner took the match MVP courtesy of the winning play and a 2-1-3 KDA.

But Blacklist’s rookies Jon Redick “Super Red” Bordeos (Melissa) and Kenneth Carl “Yue” Tadeo (Pharsa) played an almost perfect Game 2 that led to a lopsided affair and force extension.

The two finished with 4-1-7 and 4-1-5 KDAs in the victory.

Blacklist conceded the first two deaths of Game 3 but took control after taking three unanswered kills that paved the way for OhMyV33nus’ clutch display in the late game to complete the reverse sweep.
