Minana parts ways with MPL PH, roster looks to join new teams


Minana EVOS has bid farewell to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines.

Minana Esports disclosed on Tuesday that their entire roster from MPL PH Season 13 will be released, likely to find new homes with different teams in the upcoming Season 14.

This means that Jan Dominic “Domeng” Del Delmundo, Jeniel “YellyHaze” Bata-Anon, Jann Kirk “Kirk” Solcruz Gutierrez, Kyl Shawn “Koyl” Reyes, Ken “Kzen” Pile, Lance “Lancey” Cunanan, John “Perkz” Sumawan, Brian “SpiderMilez” Santos, Oscar “Sumpak” Romero, Mark “Vane” Dasig, Coach Douglas “Imbadeejay” Astibe II, and Kurt “Super Kurt” Recto will most likely join different teams in the upcoming Season 14.

“Minana and EVOS have made the difficult decision together that we will no longer participate in the MPL, resulting in the release of the current roster,” Minana Esports stated on their Facebook post.

“While we are both proud of what the team has achieved during our time together, we feel it’s best to focus our future efforts separately.”

Minana Esports entered the professional scene in Season 12, filling the vacancy left by Nexplay Esports. Despite their efforts, they fell short of securing a playoff berth, finishing their debut season in 7th place.

Their fortunes turned around during their sophomore season, marking a redemption period for the team. They achieved their goal of reaching the playoffs, clinching the 5th seed during Week 6 of MPL PH Season 13.

However, their playoff journey ended early after losing against Blacklist International in the first round in five games, ultimately placing 6th in the local tournament.

“From a Minana perspective, while we won’t be participating in the MPL next season, we remain dedicated to the gaming community in the Philippines and will continue to invest in other initiatives that we feel will positively contribute to the community. We look forward to sharing more with you all soon,” Minana Esports concluded their post.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we just want to thank you all for your faith and support in Minana EVOS.”

The replacement for Minana EVOS’ spot for the upcoming MPL Philippines Season 14 has yet to be announced.
