M5: Geek Fam, See You Soon score sweeps in Day 3

Two teams, each featuring a pair of Filipino imports, emerged victorious in their respective matches during Day 3 of the M5 World Championship Group Stage.

Indonesia’s Geek Fam ID and Cambodia’s See You Soon secured sweeps on Monday at the EVM Convention Center in Quezon City.

Filipino imports Michael “MP the King” Endino and Clarense “Kusey” Camilo took turns leading the Cambodian representatives to a 2-0 victory over Saudi Arabia’s Triple Esports, putting them on the brink of qualification for the knockout stages.

With a 2-0 win-loss record, SYS only needs Onic Esports to triumph over Triple Esports tomorrow to secure their spot in the playoff round.

Similarly, Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy and Mark “Markyyyyy” Capacio showcased phenomenal plays as Geek Fam ID achieved a 2-0 victory against North America’s The Ohio Brothers.

The MPL Indonesia runners-up find themselves in a must-win situation in their final match against Deus Vult to have a fighting chance at securing a slot in the knockout stages.

Meanwhile, Team Flash, led by Filipino import Jaymark “Hadess” Lazaro, failed to build on a rousing opening game win and suffered a 2-1 reverse sweep at the hands of Mongolian representatives Team Lilgun.

They now face a challenging task ahead as they attempt to defeat MPL Philippines powerhouse AP.Bren, needing a victory to advance to the double-elimination knockout stage.
