Stephen Loman is officially calling Lions Nation MMA his new home.
“The Sniper” personally confirmed this to Tiebreaker Times during the team’s celebration of its first anniversary at the Landslide Martial Arts Training Center in La Trinidad, Benguet on Saturday.
“I can finally say that I’m officially a member of Lions Nation MMA,” he said.
It can be recalled that the 28-year-old dropped a bombshell this past January, announcing his departure from Team Lakay — a legendary stable headed by Mark Sangiao that had experienced a series of shocking exits from its notable athletes throughout 2023.
Since then, rumors had been rife about where Loman would set up camp and continue his career.
For months, clips and photos of him training with Lions Nation MMA members made rounds on social media. Notably, the group boasts a lineup of former Team Lakay stalwarts, including Eduard Folayang, Joshua Pacio, Kevin Belingon, Honorio Banario, Danny Kingad, Jeremy Pacatiw, and Edward Kelly.
During the event to commemorate the team’s milestones in its first year, Loman found a great opening to put all speculation to rest by affirming his allegiance to Lions Nation MMA.
“I am very happy where I am right now. The culture and environment here are also conducive, which I think will help me a lot, especially in my career as a fighter,” he stated.
Now, the Ifugao native is already looking forward to donning Lions Nation MMA’s official colors of gold and back in his next assignment under the ONE Championship banner.
Loman last saw action in September 2023, where he narrowly lost to John Lineker in a crucial matchup that could have decided the next challenger for Fabricio Andrade’s ONE Bantamweight MMA World Title.
Joining Lions Nation MMA has given Loman a strong belief that his new team will guide him to redemption.
“The first thing I felt immediately upon joining here is that they wanted to help me. Right then and there, it gave me confidence that I can bounce back,” he expressed.
