La Salle, Ateneo call on fans to wear pink for rivalry game

For the third time in 13 years, age-old rivals De La Salle University and Ateneo de Manila University are shedding the green and the blue, respectively, for their rivalry game.

In a joint statement by La Salle president Br. Bernie Oca, FSC and Ateneo president Fr. Bobby Yap, SJ, the two called on the fans of both schools to wear pink on Tuesday during the Green Archers versus Blue Eagles clash on Tuesday at 7:00PM.

The UAAP Season 84 game will be played at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

“On Tuesday, we wear pink.

“Fr. Bobby and Br. Bernie encourage Ateneans and Lasallians for Leni to wear pink during the coming Ateneo-La Salle game,” read the statement.

This is the third time in recent memory that the two universities called on their fans to don the same colors.

Back on October 3, 2016, the two schools urged their alumni to wear black as a stand against the extrajudicial killings that had been happening under the Rodrigo Duterte administration.

Tickets for the second round will be split into two, one for the first two games and the other for the last two games.
