Domengkite leads Aurora to victory in MPL PH thriller against Smart Omega

Jan “Domengkite” Delmundo displayed impeccable precision as he spearheaded Aurora to a fourth straight victory, this time against Smart Omega, 2-1, in Week 3 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City on Saturday.

The Season 14 runners-up solidified their place on the second spot with a 4-0 record behind fellow undefeated Team Liquid PH.

While head coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, he tipped his hat to Omega for delivering a hard-fought series.

“Tingin ko ang naging malalaking factor lang kung bakit nagkakaron kami ng error ay dahil sa play na ginagawa ng Omega. Hindi siya totally sa team. Pero irereview pa rin namin. Maganda yung ginagawa nila (Aurora) pero kaya pang iimprove talaga,” he said.

Domengkite (Granger) played the hero in a close Game 1 victory as he scored an unofficial savage killing streak, taking down all five members of Smart Omega during the 24th minute base turret defense, to complete a massive reverse and go up 1-0.

However, Omega’s Jomari “Jowm” Pingol (Granger) went on rampage in Game 2 with his Granger pick, going off for a spotless 12-0-4 KDA en route to a 17-minute equalizer.

In Game 3, Domengkite (Granger) once again delivered the heroics as he secured a double kill during a 17th minute skirmish that led to a game-winning 3-0 pickoff.

He finished with an impressive 6-2-4 KDA in the close-out win.
Omega, who is coming off a breakthrough win against Twisted Minds PH a day prior, stayed at sixth with a 1-4 record

Aurora will have a short rest as they aim for a fifth straight win tomorrow against TNC Pro Team.
