Team Falcons ended TNC Pro Team’s three-game win streak while extending its own run to four following a dominant 2-0 sweep in the MPL Philippines Season 15 on Friday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.
After the match, Angelo Kyle “Pheww” Arcangel etched his name in history, becoming the first player in MPL PH history to reach 3,000 assists in the regular season.
When asked about his seemingly ageless prime, Pheww credited those who have stood by him throughout his decorated career.
“Siguro dahil sa ano, lagi kong sinasabi dahil lagi sa mga taong naniniwala sa’kin, mas ginaganahan akong maglaro. Tapos passion ko talaga ‘yung maglaro eh, kaya hangga’t kaya ko, mag-iimprove lang ako ng mag-iimprove,” he shared.
Despite Pheww’s historic milestone, it was Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson who stole the spotlight with stellar performances in both games, going deathless throughout the series.
In the opening game, KyleTzy’s Hayabusa spearheaded Team Falcons’ dominant showing, finishing with five kills and two assists as they crushed TNC in just 10 minutes and nine seconds.
Determined to finish the series in a sweep, head coach Robert “Trebor” Sanchez entrusted Pheww with his signature Selena pick in the second match.
The “Idol ng mga Kids” delivered, tallying eight assists with zero deaths while setting up KyleTzy’s Ling for a clean eight-kill performance that sealed the victory.
Team Falcons will enjoy a one-week break before returning to action against AP.Bren next Saturday, March 22, at 7:30 PM.
Meanwhile, TNC will aim to bounce back when they take on Aurora Philippines to open the final day of Week 3 at the same venue.
