Pheww stays hungry as he enters new era with Team Falcons

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

On Sunday, Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel further cemented his legacy in MPL Philippines history.

Pheww surpassed Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales to claim third place on the league’s all-time kills leaderboard, amassing an impressive 1,356 kills since making his debut in MPL PH’s inaugural season in 2018.

In an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times, Pheww credited his passion and dedication as the key factors that set him apart from other players.

“Siguro pinagkaibahan ko sa ibang players ay yung gigil sa paglalaro. Kase kung gigil ka talaga sa paglalaro, kahit Season 1 ka pa lang naglalaro, kung gusto mo talaga maging competitive, kung masaya ka talaga sa ginagawa mo, talagang mag-stay ka talaga sa pagiging pro player eh,” he said.

The 25-year-old veteran began his professional MLBB career with Digital Devils Pro in MPL Season 1, helping the team secure a runner-up finish. He later joined Cignal Ultra from Seasons 2 to 4, where he clinched his first MPL title in Season 2.

Pheww’s career soared to new heights when he became part of AP.Bren from Seasons 5 to 13, leading the team to two MPL PH championships in Seasons 6 and 12.

His accolades extend beyond domestic dominance. With AP.Bren, he added international titles to his résumé, conquering the M2 and M5 World Championships, the 2024 Games of the Future, and the 1xBet Supernova tournament.

“Masaya ako sa ginagawa ko. Kahit talo, kahit panalo, part ng pagiging professional player ‘yon eh. Kaya masaya ako palagi sa ginagawa ko,” he added.

Now embarking on a new chapter with Team Falcons PH, Pheww remains steadfast in his confidence, fueled by the unwavering support of those who believe in him.

“Kagaya nga ng laging sinasabi ko, hangga’t may naniniwala sa akin na mga fans, coaches ko, teammates ko, family ko, gagawin ko pa rin yung best ko,” he concluded.
