Juan Gomez de Liaño to miss rest of Chooks 3×3 Leg 1


CALAMBA, LAGUNA — Nueva Ecija will have to march on with just three men. Juan Gomez de Liaño has been ruled out for the rest of the 2020 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup powered by TM Leg 1 playoffs, Wednesday evening.

The 6-foot-1 guard sustained a right ankle sprain with 5:15 left in their 21-19 win over Bacolod in the last game of Pool D.

Gomez de Liaño averaged 7.5 points in the two games played in the group stages.

Nueva Ecija will still have Gab Banal, Jai Reyes, and Mac Sabellina.

The Rice Vanguards advanced to the semis after a 21-18 win over Pasig-Sta. Lucia.
