Lyceum of the Philippines University’s JM Bravo has been discharged from Cardinal Santos Medical Center on Monday afternoon, two days after suffering a freak accident during the Pirates’ NCAA Season 100 Seniors Basketball Tournament game against Arellano University.
Bravo underwent a CT scan (Computed Tomography scan) and an EEG (Electroencephalogram), both of which cleared him of any serious injuries.
However, doctors have advised the 23-year-old forward to refrain from physical activities for the next three days as he remains under close monitoring.
“JM is doing better, but the doctors want to make sure everything is fine before he resumes any physical activities,” Pirates team manager Allan Layco shared.
Bravo will miss Lyceum’s crucial matchup against the College of Saint Benilde on Wednesday as part of his recovery protocol.
The incident occurred in the final seconds of Saturday’s game when Bravo lunged for a loose ball with just eight seconds remaining.
In the scramble, he crashed chin-first into the back of Arellano’s Renzo Abiera’s head and lost consciousness, causing immediate concern on the court.
Bravo will miss the Pirates’ game against Benilde Blazers on Wednesday.
