JM Bravo in good spirits after scary collision, initial tests show no serious injury

JM Bravo is in good spirits after a frightening incident during his team’s NCAA Season 100 Seniors Basketball Tournament game on Saturday.

Bravo is currently under observation at Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan, where he was rushed after being knocked unconscious following a loose ball collision with Arellano University’s Renzo Abiera.

According to Lyceum Pirates team manager Allan Layco, initial medical tests have shown promising results.

“The initial CT scan showed no damage, and the neuro tests have also turned out negative,” Layco confirmed.

The incident occurred during Bravo’s fourth game of the season, when a scramble for a loose ball led to an unfortunate collision.

As Bravo lunged for possession, he crashed chin-first into the back of Abiera’s head, causing him to lose consciousness on the court.

The game was halted as the fourth-year forward was stretchered off the court at the Filoil EcoOil Centre, and medical personnel quickly transported him to Cardinal Santos.

Layco and the Pirates’ medical staff accompanied Bravo to the hospital, where doctors continued their evaluation.

A seizure was also ruled out.

Although Bravo is stable, he is scheduled for one more CT scan on Sunday before receiving full medical clearance.

This final check is essential to ensure there are no lingering concerns before Bravo can potentially return to basketball activities.

The team and coaching staff are hopeful for Bravo’s swift recovery, though no timeline has been given for his return to action.
