Guiao fined PHP 35K for comments on officiating, dirty finger

The PBA has fined Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao Tuesday a total of 35,000 pesos for his comments on officiating after Game 4 of the team’s semi-finals series against the San Miguel Beermen.

Guiao said earlier officiating was getting confusing both squads, and that it was getting worse.

The Rain or Shine mentor shall pay 20,000 pesos for the comments “detrimental to the league,” plus an additional 10,000 pesos for flashing a dirty finger during Game 4.

Others fined during Rain or Shine-San Miguel Game 4 were Elasto Painters assistant team manager Jay Legacion (5,000) and assistant coach Mike Buendia (5,000), both for leaving the bench during altercation.

Beermen forward Arwind Santos and Elasto Painters big Jewel Ponferada will each have to pay 5,000 pesos for flagrant foul penalty ones, while Paul Lee was fined 1,000 pesos his first technical foul in the conference.
