Pao Javelona’s hard work pays off
After helping San Miguel Alab Pilipinas bag the ABL crown, the 6-foot defensive specialist has been called up to the big league.
In a report by SPIN.ph, Javelona has been picked up by the Globalport Batang Pier.
Javelona, 25, averaged 4.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.4 steals per game for Alab. He stepped up when Josh Urbiztondo suffered an injury late in the elimination round.
Coming out of National University, Javelona was drafted by the Phoenix Fuel Masters, who later traded the pick to the TNT Katropa. He, however, was cut by the Katropa.
He then played in the D-League afterwards.
Javelona joins a loaded Globalport backcourt that includes Stanley Pringle, Jonathan Grey, and Jeff Viernes.
