The league earlier announced Ginebra had until 12 noon of Monday to file such protest although the team did not choose to do so.
However, the PBA shall conduct a hearing for the four referees involved in the Ginebra-Globalport match, Edward Aquino, Mardy Montoya, Romell Gruta, and Bing Oliva, to “determine their performance.”
Here is part of the statement from the Office of the Commissioner Monday:
“Regarding the officiating and to be fair, we have scheduled a hearing for the 4 referees tomorrow, the 29th of December, to determine their performance. After that we shall come out with our official action on them.”
“As far as the PBA is concerned the game has already been concluded.”
After the dust has settled, Ginebra head coach Tim Cone went on Twitter and vowed that Ginebra will bounce back from this loss next conference.
