Decorated head coach Frankie Lim has been fastracked from team consultant to head coach of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Altas.
In a sudden turn of events, Cameroonian head coach Nosa Omorogbe has resigned from his post as chief tactician of the Altas as disclosed by school owner Antonio Tamayo.
“He (Omorogbe) returned home because of family problems,” said Tamayo.
Taking his place is Lim, who won four NCAA championships during his time with the San Beda College Red Lions.
Lim’s last coaching stint prior to this was back in 2015 with the Barangay Ginebra Kings.
With San Beda, he amassed an impressive 84-12 record, 14-4 in the playoffs.
Lim, however, had a controversial falling out with San Beda after figuring in a off-court brawl with San Sebastian head coach Roger Gorayeb. He was slapped with a lifetime ban by the league but was lifted late 2017.
Lim will make his Perpetual debut on Monday, January 22 when the Perpetual Altas take on the San Sebastian-backed Che’Lu Bar and Grill in the PBA D-League.
