Fajardo wins 4th BPC in 3 seasons

Reigning back to back MVP June Mar Fajardo has added another piece of silverware to his growing collection after winning another Best Player of the Conference award Sunday.

Fajardo copped the Philippine Cup’s Best Player of the Conference, his third straight BPC in an all-Filipino conference and fourth overall in a span of just three seasons.

The San Miguel big man averaged 23.1 PPG, 14.4 RPG, and 1.8 BPG in the elimination round. He logged 26 PPG, 14.8 RPG, and 2.1 BPG in six games in the semi-finals, before going down with a knee injury.

Fajardo compiled 16 double-doubles in 17 games, and led the league in points, rebounds, and blocks throughout the semi-finals.

The big man bested other candidates, including teammate Arwind Santos, and Alaska’s Vic Manuel. Other players who put up impressive numbers in the conference are NLEX’s Sean Anthony and Asi Taulava, Ginebra’s Greg Slaughter, and Globalport’s Stanley Pringle and Terrence Romeo.
