Duckey remains confident with BREN Esports despite 0-2 start

BREN Esports once again fell into a familiar hole to start the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight.

On Sunday evening, the reigning world champions dropped their second consecutive match – a loss away from another horrendous 0-3 start just like what they endured in the previous season.

BREN Esports’ comeback bid against RSG PH went for naught. The newbies ran away with a 2-1 victory, highlighted by its dominant 11-5 Game Three performance.

MPL champion coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro admitted that the team was severely out-drafted in the winner-take-all match, which spelled the doom for the still-winless BREN Esports.

“Actually, yun na rin yung pinag-uusapan namin kanina eh – that we were severely out-drafted,” shared the world champion coach.

“Error namin ‘yun, kailangan naming mag-adjust. Then ‘yun nga, kailangan talaga namin ng maraming pagbabago doon sa team in terms of chemistry, in terms of drafting, sa galaw most importantly.”

During the drafting phase of Game Three, BREN Esports opted to take X.Borg, Popol and Kupa, and Hayabusa, respectively. Meanwhile, RSG got its hands on Harley, Rafaela, and Benedetta.

With Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s pick already revealed, RSG decided to take Esmeralda and Uranus in the second phase. That then negated the Hayabusa.

BREN Esports managed to take the Lunox for CJ “Ribo” Ribo, but it was not enough. Instead, RSG bulldozed its way to victory.

Now on the same corner once more, the BREN Esports coach is making his players’ mental state the first priority.

“But my priority right now is pababain talaga ‘yung stress level nila,” shared Duckey.

“Lalo ngayon, talo kami sa first two matches for the first week, which is really bad. So ayun nga, sobrang taas ng stress level nila. Anxious sila na baka hindi na sila nagpe-perform well when in fact, it’s just a matter of errors din eh, in terms of drafting, in terms of gameplay,” he added.

“Kailangan namin ng adjustments, but individually I still think they’re still on par with current teams, even better.”

BREN Esports looks to pick up its first win against TNC on Saturday at 6:00 PM.
