Double main event set for PXC 51

Asia-Pacific’s most exciting fight league is set to open the new year with a bang!

After signing a lucrative deal with Solaire Hotels and Resorts early December, Pacific Xtreme Combat starts its partnership with its new home with a double main event featuring the brightest stars in this region.

In the main event, Team Lakay’s Crisanto Pitpitunge (8-3) sets his sights to become the promotion’s first two-division champion as he faces compatriot Jinel Lausa (5-2) for the vacant PXC Flyweight Championship. The Fighting Cop, also known as the Slugger, is coming off a victory against former champion Filipino-American Alvin Cacdac last June at PXC 48. Cacdac failed to make weight during the weigh-ins resulting to the PXC officials stripping him of his gold.DSC_0448 Double main event set for PXC 51 - philippine sports news

During that same night, Jinel Lausa scored an impressive first round knockout win over Ernesto Montilla. Montilla dominated the bout early on but flyweight from Iloilo City was able to rally back and knockout his opponent with a huge overhand left with a second to go in the opening round.DSC_0521 Double main event set for PXC 51 - philippine sports news

One championship is not enough for the card as PXC Bantamweight Champion Kyle Aguon (9-4) returns to Manila. This time around, Aguon is set to face undefeated Korean fighter Kwan Ho Kwak.

Aguon put an emphatic end to his feud with Rolando Dy last June in completely grinding out the Filipino in 25 minutes of action. On the other hand, Kwak is making his PXC debut and has finished all but one of his opponents during his seven fight win streak.

Finally, Team Lakay’s darling Gina Iniong (3-2), who was supposed to fight at PXC 50, returns to the terror dome after a year-long layoff. However, visa issues stopped her from fighting during the said card in Guam. Iniong last saw action in PXC 46, losing her bout against Cortney Casey by first round submission. The Filipina is set to face Spaniard Vanessa Fernandez (2-1) in Atomweight action.

More bouts are set to be announced in the upcoming weeks leading up to PXC 51. PXC 51: Pitpitunge vs. Lausa will be on Saturday, January 16, 2016 and will be held at the Solaire Hotel and Resort in Pasay City
