Didat Hanapi bids Adamson farewell, signs with Manila

After three seasons at Adamson University, Didat Hanapi has decided to move on to the professional ranks.

The 6-foot-2 slasher from Zamboanga City has signed with the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League’s Manila Stars.

Stars consultant Charles Tiu confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.

Since the UAAP does not allow its student-athletes to avail themselves of the Games and Amusements Board’s special guest license, Hanapi has ended his stay at Adamson at just 22 years of age.

Still, Hanapi had a standout campaign with the Soaring Falcons.

During UAAP Season 86, he averaged 6.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. He dropped his season-high 16 points during Adamson’s 57-69 loss to De La Salle University on November 8.

Ironically, he will be teammates with former Green Archer Ef Escandor in Manila.

Also part of the loaded team are Carl Cruz, Rabeh Al-Hussaini, Renzo Navarro, James Tempra, Shawn Umali, Peter Rosillo, Kobe Monje, Jio Gonzaga, and Jade Talampas.

Last season, the Stars finished with a paltry 4-23 record.
