Cyrus Nitura set to embark on new journey with Mapua

After much contemplation, Cyrus Nitura has finally decided on his new home.

The athletic 6-foot-2 winger – who is the older brother of UAAP Season 86 High School Athlete of the Year in Team Sports Shaina – will make his way to Intramuros, as he secured his transfer to Mapua University.

For Nitura, it is with the Cardinals where he sees himself furthering his growth as a player.

Following NCAA Season 99, Nitura, alongside Jun Roque and Mark Omega, departed from the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.

During his rookie year, Nitura averaged 10.11 points, 6.83 rebounds, 3.78 assists, and 1.39 steals per game.

Initially committing to Emilio Aguinaldo College and the MPBL team Nueva Ecija, Nitura faced a change of plans due to a falling out between Generals head coach Jerson Cabiltes and Rice Vanguards owner Bong Cuevas.

He was also courted by National University.

Despite the twists and turns, Nitura will remain in the NCAA and will be eligible starting Season 101.

Teaming up with Cyril Gonzales at Mapua, Nitura aims to guide the Cardinals back to another Finals appearance.
