Thursday afternoon, a huge fire broke out in the residential area in San Marcelino Street.
The fire reached level five at around 12 in the afternoon, and almost reached the Adamson University. It did, however, reach dormitories of students studying in Adamson and TUP.
Responding to help out the victims of the fire and help out their “klasmeyts” were the varsity teams of Adamson. And this included Valandre Chauca.
Chauca used his Twitter account as an announcement board for everyone in the area.

The one-and-done Soaring Falcon also helped evacuate a computer shop he frequents, aiding the staff in moving out their desktops.
This was the electronics shop I was in helping the owners get their valuables out of…honestly breaks my heart that more couldn’t be done. God bless all who have been affected, sending love & prayers♥️ pic.twitter.com/Mo381qVF8c

The fire was declared dead at around 3:50 pm. But Chauca remained in the area, helping out in the relief operations of the school.

Chauca’s work drew praise from the Adamsonians, who expressed their gratitude to him.

Valandre does more for Adamson and its community in less than a year, than others who have spent almost a decade in Adamson #KingFalcon https://t.co/HlAyrVwFcn

But for him, he is just doing his duty as an Adamsonian.
“There were hundreds of heroes out there today doing what I was doing and more. Just glad I could do my part, that’s all.”
On Saturday, Chauca and the Soaring Falcons vow to go all out in their game against the FEU Tamaraws, dedicating their game to the victims of the tragedy.
