Bella Belen was so used to winning during her years with National University — from her dominant run in high school to her decorated collegiate career.
An eight-time UAAP champion, Belen collected five titles with the Lady Bullpups before adding three more crowns with the Lady Bulldogs.
But for the three-time collegiate MVP, earning her first victory in the Premier Volleyball League was a feeling she would always remember.
After a tough straight-set loss to PLDT in their opener, Capital1 bounced back strong with a 25-20, 23-25, 27-25, 25-12 triumph over Nxled for their first win in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Siguro ‘yung feeling (‘yung hindi ko malilimutan). I mean, ‘yung gaano kasaya manalo dito sa pro,” said the 5-foot-7 outside hitter, smiling after the hard-earned win.
The 2025 PVL Draft’s first overall pick tallied 15 points while also showcasing her all-around game with 14-of-22 excellent digs. She complemented the explosive 39-point performance of Ukrainian import Sasha Bytsenko.
Now that the Solar Spikers stand at 1-1 in Pool A, Belen doesn’t just want to savor that winning feeling — she wants to experience it again and again.
“Siguro, mas mahe-help ako na magiging disiplinado pa, ganyan. Like, to improve pa para magkaroon pa kami ng mga susunod na panalo. Para hindi lang isang beses namin ma-feel,” Belen shared.
Up next for Belen and Capital1 is Farm Fresh on Tuesday, still at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum.
