It looks like Bay Area isn’t switching imports.
The PBA on Thursday said that it did not receive any notification from the guest team regarding a roster change ahead of the Commissioner’s Cup Finals’ Game Four, giving the impression that Andrew Nicholson will still be taking on the role.
The 12 noon deadline had elapsed — roster changes can only be submitted until 12 noon prior to each game day, per league rules.
Talks of the Dragons bringing back Myles Powell in lieu of the veteran big man immediately floated when the latter went down with a left ankle injury late in Game Three of an eventual 82-89 defeat to Ginebra Wednesday night.
Nicholson landed on Jamie Malonzo’s foot with only 35 seconds left to play and had to be aided by his teammates on the way to the dugout.
The former NBA cager was soon taken out of the Mall of Asia Arena in a wheelchair as he was sent to the hospital.
No word yet from Bay Area regarding the status of his injury.
Game Four is on Friday at the same venue, and it remains to be seen whether the 32-year-old Nicholson sees action or coach Brian Goorjian will play with an all-local lineup in their bid to equalize the series at two games apiece.
